The brief involved the visual branding, design and production of a suite of strategic visual communication materials designed to promote and add value to the fourth year design professional creative studio at the University of Western Sydney. One of the many problems that faces this studio is that it currently has no visual presence and that 2nd and 3rd years have no idea about, or want to continue their final year of study.
The objective was to create a visual brand that: » Expresses the professional standard of the students » Is recognised outside the confines of the university » Is fun yet professional
The name Rabbit Hole stems from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. The Rabbit Hole is forever changing and expanding, is a place that is creative and unexpected. Not to mention, the studio is hidden away in our building, much like a rabbit hole.
We’re hopefully going to present this design to the head of school in the near future and go ahead with the final designs.

this project was for the university of western sydney student magazine, Embellish. this was a class project for the subject Publications, where we created a design publication as a team, with each person undertaking different management roles. i was awarded the role of art director and oversaw the whole production and design of the magazine.my design contributions include the cover design, gatefold contents page, 6 page article/spread and masthead. my article, titled the camera never lies deals with the use of manipulated images in the media and its effects on our community space, as well as questions the ethics of designing an image and embellishing the truth to create ideas of a perceived reality. alternate cover design

illustration done for the Extra Cheeese group exhibition held in march 07. this piece was sold on opening night, and the exhibition included many other talented friends & artists such as torsocorso, numskull & akina. artists and designers had to create a piece using a used pizza box as the canvas, and its aim was to promote the awareness of sustainable practice, as well as to blur the distinctions between art and design. more info / gallery

alternate cover design for the uws student magazine “embellish” which i art directed in early ‘07. the magazine’s theme was ’subversive space’, so i attempted to create something controversial. thus the design was influenced by some of my favourite works — the famous sculptures by allen jones and the work of trevor brown. in the end, my more conservative design was chosen as the cover, but this one still raised quite a few eyebrows. embellish magazine
